Using Dialogic® Brooktrout® SR140 Fax Licenses with the eClinicalWorks EMR Solution
The eClinicalWorks EMR Solution supports both the Dialogic® Brooktrout® Fax boards and the Dialogic® Brooktrout® SR140 FoIP software for sending faxes over IP networks.
In order to use FoIP with the eClinicalWorks EMR Solution, first purchase the Brooktrout SR140-compatible version of the application from eClinicalWorks.
Enabling Faxing over IP
Brooktrout SR140 licenses are required to enable the desired number of FoIP channels in each server. These licenses are sold in varying densities from 2 to 60 channels and can be combined to achieve higher densities within a single server, limited by the specific server and the amount of CPU required by the application. Each license supports both T.38 and G.711 fax transport methods at V.17 and V.34 speeds, MH, MR, MMR fax compression, voice play/record, and DTMF detection/generation.

Getting Support
Support plans are required to provide you with technical support for deployed products and access to software maintenance releases, implemented in conjunction with your eClinicalWorks software.
Each license purchase must be accompanied by either a 1- or 3-yr Value Per Unit Plan (VPUP), the part numbers of which are created by adding a -1V or -3V to the Dialogic license part number. The VPUP MSRP is 10% of the license MSRP. See the example below of part number for the 2-channel license support plans:

Q: Is a specific version of eClinicalWorks required to work with Brooktrout SR140 licenses?
A: No, SR140 licenses will work with all eClinicalWorks versions.
Q: How do I get my Brooktrout SR140 licenses configured to work with eClinicalWorks?
A:Open a case with eClinicalWorks, which will be converted to an implementation project. A project manager will contact you to gather details, prepare and get the Work Order approved and schedule the configuration.
Q: Do the Brooktrout SR140 licenses get installed on the same server as the eClinicalWorks software or is a separate server required?
A: All faxing solutions must be installed on a separate, dedicated fax server.
Q: How does the fax server communicate with the eClinicalWorks server?
A: Communication between the servers is via SSL and custom APIs
