Branch office support and survivability to be enabled via software upgrade to Dialogic® 4000 Media Gateway Series

VoiceCon, ORLANDO, FL - March 22, 2010 - Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for media and signal processing and a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, announced today that it plans to make available a software migration path for its Dialogic® 4000 Media Gateway Series (DMG4000 Gateways) to become a Survivable Branch Appliance in time for the release of Microsoft Communications Server "14."

Enterprises eager to replace aging telephone and voicemail systems in branch office locations with software-based unified communications (UC) solutions want an appliance that can provide the branch locations with local connectivity to the Public Switched Telephony Network (PSTN) and legacy analog endpoints while maintaining core UC services in the event WAN connections to centralized datacenters become unavailable. Microsoft Corp. is addressing this need with its release of Communications Server "14," and Dialogic has developed a software migration path for its DMG4000 Gateways to become "Survivable Branch Appliances" to provide the local connectivity and run the necessary server software in branch locations under these circumstances.

"In essence, as unified communications solutions evolve to become full PBX replacements, the branch office will be supported by a single integrated appliance supporting all the local IP and analog endpoints and providing connectivity to local PSTN and SIP trunking services," stated Franz-Josef Eberle, Vice President and General Manager for the Enterprise Market Group at Dialogic. "That, in turn, will enable an efficient consolidation of servers into regional data centers, and a cost effective, well connected and manageable branch office deployment. The DMG4000 Gateways were the first hybrid gateways qualified for use with Microsoft unified communications, and now Dialogic customers and resellers are pleased that one of the next steps in the continued development of these products will allow the DMG4000 Gateways to become Survivable Branch Appliances to support Communications Server "14" via a simple software upgrade."

"DMG4000 Gateways extend the branch office unified communications capabilities in Communications Server "14," and they deliver sustained, reliable and highly secure connectivity in the event of wide area network failures," said Yancey Smith, Director of Communications Server Product Management at Microsoft.

The complete line of Dialogic Media Gateways is widely deployed for both Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, and Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging. Dialogic's products and support services are available worldwide, with active programs and offers available for new customers and channel partners ready to deploy UC.
