Dialogic IMG System Software Release 10.5.3 Offers Improved Performance and Economics for Large Scale, SIP-based Enhanced Services Deployments
Parsippany, New Jersey, May 24, 2010 - Dialogic Corporation ("Dialogic"), a global provider of world-class products and technologies for multimedia and signal processing, today announced the addition of SS7 to SIP connectivity features for the Dialogic® IMG 1004 Integrated Media Gateway with the introduction of Dialogic® IMG System Software Release 10.5.3. The new software release enables scalable SS7 to SIP connectivity for residential Voice over IP deployments in small to medium sized cities using the Dialogic® Integrated Media Gateways ("IMG 1010 and IMG 1004").
A fifty percent improvement in gateway call performance has been observed in testing and the new release is well suited to address demanding enhanced service applications such as contact centers in wireline networks and interactive voice services in mobile networks. Another notable enhancement included in IMG System Software Release 10.5.3 is the detection and selective routing of video and voice calls desired within leading unified messaging solutions.
Dialogic Integrated Media Gateways help carriers leverage existing SS7 networks and connect subscribers to IP-based enhanced services. The IMG 1004 is a carrier-ready VoIP gateway that supports both media and signaling in a single chassis, allowing service providers to add new telephony services quickly. The IMG 1010 is certified in leading carrier networks including British Telecom and France Telecom, and several additional partner integrations are currently in process.
Offering a wide range of scalability (32 to 768 channels) for SS7-powered VoIP solutions, the new IMG 10.5.3 Software enables cost effective support for POPs in remote locations and small cities. Additionally, the software adds virtualization support for the Dialogic® Gate Control Element Management System on VMware, as well as outbound support for standard DNS servers to load balance between SIP application servers of ISVs. The new release also adds local number portability for SIP to SIP-I multimedia calls and, according to testing, improves density for AMR transcoding by over 40 percent to more effectively address messaging and border element markets.
"Carriers continue to rollout VoIP based infrastructure, as evidenced by a resumption of spending in the second half of 2009," according to Diane Myers, directing analyst for service provider VoIP and IMS at market research firm Infonetics Research. "Carriers are also looking for ways to increase subscriber revenues for new IP-based services. Products like Dialogic's IMG Integrated Media Gateways can be deployed on the network edge of wireless or wireline networks and accelerate the move to SIP-based enhanced services for voice and video."
"As service providers are migrating to an all IP network, there has naturally been a tremendous growth in mobile voice and VoIP deployments," said Jim Machi, senior vice president of marketing at Dialogic. "The new IMG 10.5.3 System Software meets the increased need for SS7-enabled gateways for protecting investment in existing network infrastructure, offering our customers the benefits of improved performance and flexibility for cost-effective large scale deployments."
Dialogic will be showcasing its Integrated Media Gateways and IMG 10.5.3 System Software, along with many of its other innovative products for service provider networks, in booth 720 at the International Telecoms Week (ITW) 2010 show taking place this week from May 24-26 in Washington, D.C.
