Installing the SNMP Agent on Windows®

This procedure describes the installation of the SNMP Agent on a Windows® system.

Before you begin

SwitchKit® must be installed before you start the SNMP installation. Please refer to the installation instructions in the SwitchKit Development Environment Installation and Maintenance Guide.

If you have a previous version of the SNMP Agent installed on your system, you must first remove that installation with the Add/Remove Programs utility under the Control Panel.

Installing SNMP on Windows®

To install the SNMP Agent, follow the steps below:

You must reboot your system after the installation in order to run all SNMP Agent components properly.

1 Log on to your target machine with an administrative account.

2 Insert the EXS SwitchKit Installation CD. In the folder: /snmp/windowsnt; double-click the file cspSnmp.exe to start the installation. During the installation, the following environment variables are created on your system:

• SR_MGR_CONF_DIR

• SR_AGT_CONF_DIR

• SR_BIN_CONF_DIR

3 Refer to the verification procedures after the installation is finished.

4 Reboot your machine.
