Ring-Down

A ring down circuit connects two endpoints together exclusively. Ringdown phones generally do not have dial pads. The circuit that connects a lobby phone in a hotel to the front desk would be an example of a ring-down circuit.

Ring-down can also refer to a multi-line phone system that when a line is off-hook (busy) it will ring-down to the next available line in the sequence.
