Gen 2 PCIe Slots
'Gen 2' PCI-e slots provide the capability to run the PCI Express interface at twice the speed of existing PCI Express interfaces.
According to the PCI Express specifications, the Gen 2 interface will, as part of the normal board detection process defined in the PCIe specification, detect a non-Gen 2 board and operate at normal speed.
Existing PCIe boards should therefore work in Gen 2 PCIe slots.
